About Us
Sthitā is a Bharatanatyam institution based in Malleshwaram, Bengaluru, dedicated to nurturing dancers through disciplined training, performance exposure, and a deep respect for classical traditions. Along with bharatanatyam, the space is devoted to yoga practise leading to mindful living. Founded and led by Sneha Bhagwat, Sthitā is a space where learning extends beyond technique, shaping confident performers with artistic integrity.
At Sthitā, students are guided through a structured and progressive interdisciplinary training system that balances strong fundamentals with expressive clarity. Equal emphasis is placed on abhyasa (practice), manodharma (creative understanding), and stage experience, allowing students to evolve organically as dancers.
The institution believes that classical dance is not merely a performing art, but a way of thinking, feeling, and engaging with culture. Through regular classes, in-house concerts, curated productions, and dance festivals, Sthitā offers students meaningful opportunities to experience the art form both as practitioners and rasikas.

Sneha Bhagwat is a Bharatanatyam dancer, performer, and educator dedicated to rigorous training & artistic authenticity. Her journey in classical dance has been shaped by years of disciplined learning, stage experience, and continuous engagement with the art form.
As a performer, Sneha has presented Bharatanatyam across diverse platforms including temple spaces, cultural festivals, curated productions, and collaborative performances. Her work reflects adherence to the boundaries of the classical tradition while remaining sensitive to contemporary performance contexts.
As a teacher, Sneha believes in building dancers from the ground up — emphasising strong fundamentals, clarity of movement, rhythmic precision, and expressive understanding. Her pedagogy balances structured training with performance exposure, allowing students to grow confidently both in the classroom and on stage.
In Bengaluru, Sneha founded Sthitā with the vision of creating a focused space for Bharatanatyam learning, Yoga practise and artistic exchange. Through Sthitā, she mentors students across levels, curates performance platforms such as Anveshana, Sambhrama, Avirata and actively contributes to nurturing a strong performance culture for classical dance.
Her approach to teaching centres on discipline, consistency, and devotion to practice, encouraging students to develop not just as performers, but as sensitive and thoughtful artists.
What We Do
Sthitā offers structured Bharatanatyam training for beginners and advanced students. Classes focus on adavus, theory, rhythm, abhinaya, repertoire building, and stage readiness as a solo artist.
Performance exposure is integral to training at Sthitā. Students participate in curated events of the institution along with prominent dance festivals, temple Utsavam and cultural platforms that help them build confidence and stage presence.
Along with bharatanatyam, Sthita imparts yogic training beneficial to one and all. Understanding the physical demands of dance, Sthitā also offers yoga and conditioning programs designed specifically for dancers, supporting flexibility, strength, and injury prevention.
Sthitā conducts workshops and intensive sessions led by professional artists, providing students exposure to varied perspectives & styles.
